Bunny

Did you know: A baby rabbit can leave its nest at just three weeks old.

About the Bunny

Baby rabbits, also known as kits or kittens, are born hairless and with their eyes closed. They develop rapidly, growing a soft fur coat within a week and opening their eyes by 10 days old. Mother rabbits, called does, typically nurse their young just once or twice a day, usually at dawn and dusk. This infrequent nursing is a strategy to avoid attracting predators to the nest. Despite their small size and vulnerability, baby rabbits are remarkably resilient and can survive on their own at a very young age.
