Did you know: Gorillas can catch human colds and other respiratory diseases.
About the Gorilla
Gorillas are the largest living primates, native to the forests of central Africa. These intelligent apes share about 98% of their DNA with humans. Gorillas live in groups called troops, led by a dominant silverback male. They are primarily herbivores, spending much of their day foraging for plants, fruits, and occasionally insects. Despite their intimidating size and strength, gorillas are generally peaceful animals. They have been observed using tools in the wild and can learn human sign language in captivity. Conservation efforts are crucial as all gorilla species are considered endangered due to habitat loss and poaching.
