About the American Bison
The American bison is a majestic symbol of the North American plains. These massive creatures can weigh up to 2,000 pounds and stand 6 feet tall at the shoulder. Despite their size, bison are surprisingly agile and can run at impressive speeds. They have a distinctive hump on their shoulders and a shaggy coat that provides excellent insulation in harsh winter conditions.
