Crow

Did you know: Crows can recognize individual human faces and hold grudges against people who have wronged them.

About the Crow

Crows are intelligent birds found worldwide, known for their all-black plumage and distinctive caw. These adaptable birds are members of the corvid family, which includes ravens, jays, and magpies. Crows are omnivorous and opportunistic feeders, eating a wide variety of foods from insects and small animals to fruits and human food scraps. They are known for their problem-solving abilities and have been observed using tools and understanding cause-and-effect relationships. Crows are social birds, often seen in family groups or larger flocks. They have complex communication systems, using a variety of vocalizations and body language. Crows play important roles in ecosystems as seed dispersers and scavengers. In urban environments, they've adapted well to human presence, sometimes leading to conflicts but also providing opportunities for unique human-wildlife interactions.
